CLASSROOM RULES AND PROCEDURES
1.) Turn in work on time – I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY LATE DAILY OR MAJOR WORK.Late Quizzes or Major Exams will make a grade no higher than a 70.
2.) Retakes and Corrections – All quizzes and Major Exams that you fail may be retaken during tutorials after school. A date will be given for your retake and if you do not retake the failure within that time, the failing grade will stand.
3.) Absences – IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to come in after an absence to get your assignments. DO NOT ASK ME DURING CLASS; come before or after school, or during break. You have 1 day for each day of absence to make up your work. Missing or late work is recorded as a zero and will not be changed if you discover you are failing at the end of the grading period. DO NOT WAIT FOR ME TO ASK FOR YOUR WORK; MAKE IT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO TURN IT IN.
4.) Come to Class prepared to STAY – Go to the bathroom BEFORE you come to class and make sure you have all your materials with you. It will be a tardy in order to return to your locker or to the bathroom. If this is a problem then it will result in disciplinary action.
5.) Bring Supplies Daily – You need to bring your Spiral for notes, book, and a pen every day. Not having your supplies will result in disciplinary action and points taken off the grade for the day.
6.) Be in your seat when the TARDY BELL rings – You must be in your seat ready to work when the TARDY BELL rings or you will just go get a tardy. If this is a problem then further disciplinary action will occur.
CLASS RULES:
1.) Be in your seat, with all materials, before the Tardy Bell.
2.) Be recognized before speaking.
3.) Encourage one another, no put downs.
4.) Remain on task until dismissed by the teacher.
5.) No WHINING about Anything.
CONSEQUENCES:
1st Offense – Teacher/Student Conference, Break and Lunch detention, and a zero on grade for the day with NO MAKE-UPS. NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
2nd Offense – The consequences of the first offense plus, break and lunch detention for 3 days and a notification of parents.
3rd Offense – The consequences of first and second offenses plus an office referral.
FOLDERS:
The students will keep up with a folder to keep up with their own grades. At the end of each 6 week grading period the students will calculate their own grades. It will count as a Major Exam as well. The Folder will have certain papers in it at all times and they are the Class Syllabus, the Classroom Rules, and Procedures sheets. If the student does not have these sheets they will be penalized 10 points for each sheet every time the folder is graded. The folders will also have 5 tabbed dividers for Sophomores and 4 tabbed dividers for Seniors. The dividers will be labeled:

Major Exams
TAKS Reviews
Miscellaneous.
